The primary level of the Ashtanga Yoga course is designed for practitioners who have completed a minimum 200 hour Yoga teacher training course or equivalent background. This course will provide you the knowledge, tools and confidence to keep your Ashtanga self-practice active and improving. We will also focus on the integration of Pranayama techniques into your asanas to yield the most benefit in your daily practice and daily life.
We will complement the practice with philosophy, lifestyle and Yogic spirituality. Following this course you will be able to introduce others to these concepts. Classes will have no more than 20 students and are open to Indians and foreigners.
The Primary Level Program will emphasize the following subjects:
Full guided primary series, (4 days weekly), and Mysore Style, (self-practice under guidance), 2 days weekly.
The principles of Vinyasa, Drishti, Bandhas and Ujjayi Pranayama and how they are related to the practice.
Ashtanga Vinyasa theory according to the practical point of view, history, and lineage.
Pranayama principles and techniques and the importance of ujjai, kapal Bhatti, Nadi shodhan.
Satsanga: opening a dialogue daily between the teacher and students for discussion of previous and present practices, as well as developing a practical understanding of Ananmayakosha, (Satvik food, fasting, austerity, asana and purification of the elemental body).

Shat kriya (Jal neti, Akunchan Prakshalanam and Agni Sara).
