Yoga is not confined within India. Yoga has been giving benefits to all humanity in the world by the grace, austerity and hard work of Yogis. I feel very happy whenever I see and hear that people from all over the world are coming to Rishikesh and other places to practice and learn how to apply Yoga in their daily life in order to balance themselves. In this fast world where everyone is becoming interested in doing Yoga asanas, Pranayama and meditation to get these benefits and balance in our present day, I feel very happy. On the one hand I feel Yoga is giving many benefits, but on the other hand I feel we are losing its ethical benefits, as well as the devotion and unity between teacher and student. It is within this devotion that we find a clearer sense of the yogic teachings, and stability and contentment in our lives
Higher levels of Yoga practice should lead you to dedicated self-practice. A true teacher will always emphasize self-practice to the aspirant. Once you experience dedicated self-practice you will discover and gain what our ancient yogis experienced through their Yoga practice. Unfortunately, many modern students don’t make necessary improvement because they seek advancement by seeking ever more teachers. This creates a chaotic learning experience without personal attention, and the message becomes confused. This is happening for many reasons, including immature or inexperienced teachers, self-promotion, ill atmosphere and company, lack of faith and devotion towards the teacher, a confused and doubtful mind, or a wondering mind and poor previous knowledge
“Regardless if we have the small wealth from a cow, the big wealth from an
elephant, the showering wealth from an eagle, or the wealth of gold, if we
possess all these without contentment, they are equal to sand”.

What our masters and great yogis have said is that the right message can only be spread by experienced Yoga teachers who care for people like a mother and will guide them to get the maximum benefits in all levels of their beings. It would seem this is a missing element in this fast human race.
